In this role, the CMA prepares patients for examinations by taking vital signs and medical histories, assists providers during exams and procedures, and performs tasks such as administering injections, conducting EKGs, phlebotomy, and specimen collection within their scope of practice. Additional responsibilities include accurately documenting patient information in the electronic medical record (EMR), scheduling appointments, supporting efficient patient flow, verifying patient information, and assisting with prescriptions and referrals. The CMA is also responsible for maintaining exam rooms and following proper infection control standards. Qualified candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent, be a graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program, and hold a current CMA certification; prior medical office experience and familiarity with EMR systems are preferred. This position operates in a medical office or clinic setting with direct patient interaction.
